Rooibos "red tea" is not from the Camellia Sinensis tea plant
as are all true teas. Rooibos is processed from the leaf of the Aspalathus linearis shrub native to South Africa and while the liquor looks and tastes very much like tea, this "tea" is 100% caffeine free. It is found to be rich in vital minerals, Vitamin Cand is very high in anti-oxidants (more so than any other beverage available), high in flavonoids, low in harmful alkaloids and low in tannins. It contains a high level of SOD, an agent that fights free radicals. It has been touted as being useful in many health related conditions and for promoting general well being. Rooibos can be enjoyed hot or cold and with milk, lemon, agave nectar or honey. Caffeine Free

White Tea
White tea is the uncured and unoxidized tea leaf. Like green, oolong, puerh, and black tea, white tea comes from the Camellia sinensis plant. Only the buds and young leaves covered in short white hairs are used. To produce white tea only two steps are taken: steaming and drying. The leaves are unaltered because they are not withered in the sun, rolled, or oxidized as are most other teas. White tea produces a very mild and refreshing infusion that is very light in color. Most of the studies conducted on teas many health benefits have been done using green tea but white may contain more polyphenols than green tea due to less processing. A cup of white tea contains approximately 15 milligrams of caffeine.
Shu-Mei White Tea
This tea is one of the famous white teas from the Fujian area of China. The multi-sized brownish-green leaves are produced from the naturally withered upper leaf and tips and brew to a pale ecru cup. Snow Buds White Tea
Snow Buds (Xue Ya) tea is a rare white tea that is hand harvested in very limited quantities on the high mountain peaks of northern Fujian, China. Its clear infusion offers a fresh green note with a complex savory ?avor and aroma that can be likened to toasted grains and baked sweet potato. The hand harvested one leaf and a bud is covered with a silvery white down that is indicative of reserve quality white tea. The impressive taste is sweet and savory with a clear infusion that is surprisingly full ?avored and smooth. It exhibits nuances of both green and white tea.
